Who We Are
Karlene Millwood Productions (KMP) is a creative studio dedicated to developing and producing original work for stage and screen.
At the core of our work is a commitment to storytelling through our own original productions and select collaborations with creators whose ideas we help shape and bring to life.
What We Do
We operate in two distinct but connected ways:
Original Productions
We develop and produce our own stories creating theatre, film, and live experiences that reflect our creative vision and voice.
Story Development & Production
We work with a select number of creators to evaluate, refine, and develop their story ideas through a structured process, with the potential to move toward production.
How We Work
Our work begins at the idea stage before scripts are finalized and before production begins.
Through the KMP Idea Evaluation Process, we assess the strength and viability of story concepts, providing clear direction on whether and how they should move forward.
From there, selected projects may enter deeper development and, in some cases, production.
This approach ensures that every story we engage with, our own or others’, is built on a strong creative foundation.
Our Story
Founded in 2011 under the name Jazz D’Vine Entertainment, KMP began with live jazz showcases and poetry events that brought communities together through art and music.
In 2014, the company expanded into theatre with its flagship production Forgiven, which sold out on opening night and funded scholarships for students in Jamaica.
Since then, KMP has grown to include short films, a feature documentary, and multiple stage productions, with its most recent production staged in February 2025.
These experiences have shaped a multidisciplinary foundation that continues to inform our work today.
